Coquitlam Centre Dental Clinic - COVID-19 Protocols

We are not accepting cash at this time. Please come prepared with visa, debit, mastercard or apple/android pay. Please note that even with 100% dental coverage, some dental treatments are not fully covered by every insurance company. We are not able to obtain a comprehensive breakdown of your coverage Please call your insurance provider with any questions.

We strictly adhere to the Return to Work Manual that was put out by the Provincial Health Authority and the British Columbia Dental Association (“BCDA”).

Dentistry is potentially challenged in infection control because so many procedures create splatter and aerosols. Patient’s considered high-risk for severe COVID-19 complications include patients with serious respiratory disease, serious heart conditions, immunocompromised conditions, severe obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, those undergoing dialysis, those who are pregnant and those over the age of 70. We are encouraging patients who meet any of these criteria to delay coming to the dentist as long as possible.

For our younger patients, we will no longer be able to provide “treasures” at the end of their appointments.

  1. Alert a receptionist that you are here if they do not acknowledge you. Since this is out of their norm, they may not even realize you're there.

  2. Patients are not required to wear masks to enter the clinic; however, the government recommendations are to wear a mask at all times when in confined spaces.*Updated policy*

  3. You will be required to fill out 2 forms: a pre-screening form and a release of liability. You will not be permitted into the clinic without filling out both of these forms.

    1. Any “non-patients” (parents accompanying minors, caregivers accompanying persons with disabilities or translators) will also be required to fill out these forms. Patients are limited to a single guest.

    2. Any “non-patients” will be required to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose at all times when inside the clinic.

    3. While we understand that it is frustrating to fill out complicated paperwork many times over, we are duty bound to have patients fill out both forms at each and every visit with no exceptions.

  4. A member of staff will take your temperature.

    1. We will also be taking the temperatures of all “non-patients” who plan to enter the clinic.

    2. Any persons - or member of a person's family - with a temperature over 37.5 degrees celcius will not be permitted to enter the dental clinic.

  5. All patients aged 12 and over will be required to use 1% hydrogen peroxide rinse before entering the clinic. This mouth wash helps to significantly reduce your saliva becoming airborne during your dental appointment.

  6. Anyone entering the clinic will be required to use the hand-sanitizer that we provide before their appointment.

  • Before starting their work day, every single dentist and member of staff is required to take their temperature and fill out a comprehensive health questionnaire.

  • Administrative staff will be wearing PPE except when behind the protective acrylic barrier.

  • Our bathroom is closed to all patients with some exceptions (i.e., elderly and disabled)

    • Please visit the washrooms near the McDonalds prior to your appointment

  • All clinical staff and dentists wear and change out their required PPE prior to each new patient.

  • The rooms are receiving advanced disinfection treatments between each patient

We will have fewer hygienists working for the foreseeable future. This means you may not get to see your regular hygienist.

As always, your safety is our top priority. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 604-464-1511 or
