METHODS OF PAYMENT

For your convenience, we accept Visa, Debit, MasterCard, and cheque, as well as Apple and Android Pay. We do accept cash, however, as we are unable to provide change. If you chose to pay in cash, please come prepared to leave a credit on your account.

DENTALCARD PROGRAM
Treatment recommendations are provided free of bias of your insurance coverage and are catered purely to the needs of the individual patient. We do not offer internal payment plans, however, we are proud to work with Dentalcard which can help you pay for extensive procedures if you wish to break up your payments over some time. Please visit the DENTALCARD website to learn more about the payment plans they offer for your dental work.

PAYMENT OF SERVICES
Please remember that you are legally responsible for all fees charged by this office regardless of your insurance reimbursement. We typically receive payment from your insurance within 60 days of treatment. Sometimes, your insurance provider will not pay for things which, at the time, we believed to be a covered benefit. We will follow up with you within 90 days of your appointment with an invoice should it be necessary.

Any balance remaining following insurance payment is your responsibility. Prompt remittance would be appreciated. Note that no patient on an account with an outstanding charge will be permitted to book an appointment until the account is made whole.

Insurance Policy

We have direct billing set up with most dental insurance companies. Some companies do not allow us to do this, however. In these cases, this is a clause of the plan, not a decision on our part. As a complimentary service, when possible, we will take care of all the paperwork for you. Patients are responsible for any deductible, co-payment or any amount not covered by their plan.

If you are collecting points on your credit card, you may choose to pay by credit card and be reimbursed directly by your insurance company. We also deal with 3rd party companies that offer payment plans for your dental treatment.

Please visit DentalCard to learn more about the payment plans they offer for your dental work.

CANCELATIONS AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS

We require 48 hours' notice for appointment changes or cancellations. Any short-notice cancellations or missed appointments will result in a minimum $75.00 fee charged to your account. This fee is not covered by any insurance policy or government funded dental provider. Please note that short-notice cancellations or missed appointments with specialists or frequent short-notice cancellations or missed appointments may result in a higher cancellation fee. The criteria for charging this fee are up to the individual practitioner with whom you are canceling. Reception has no discretion over this charge.

DEPOSIT-BOOK ONLY

In rare situations, we sometimes have to initiate our deposit-book only policy. This means that for patients who chronically miss or short-notice cancel their appointments, we will require that patient to provide a "refundable" deposit to hold their appointment time. When the patient comes in for their appointment, they will be refunded their deposit, if there is insurance, or, have it applied to the appointment, if there is not insurance. Should the patient not make it to the appointment, or short-notice cancel, the deposit would be forfeited. Please note that this deposit will apply even to patient with full insurance coverage.

ABUSIVE LANGUAGE

Any language considered to be abusive, harassing, hateful or otherwise meant to cause discomfort to staff or other patients will not be tolerated. Any such language will result in immediate denial of service.

Provincially Funded Dental Program

Here at Coquitlam Centre Dental Clinic, we believe in affordable dental care for all. That's why we follow the B.C. government funded dental program's fee guide to provide our patient's with the dental care they deserve. The fee guide that this program utilizes was put out in 2011. As everyone is well aware, the cost of everything in B.C. has shot up exponentially over the last several years. This means that, while this program stipulates it offers 100% dental coverage, it is only offered for an extremely out of date fee guide and ultimately leaves patients on the hook for roughly 60-75% of their dental costs.

If you have, or think you might have, coverage through your CareCard, please give us a call at 604-464-1511 and we can look into it for you. Generally speaking, individuals that are considered low income, disabled or a refugee will have coverage through the B.C. or Canadian government.

We feel compelled to advise our patients, however, that while we will not charge you the difference for fees that are listed on this plan, not everything is listed. These plans are generally very limited for what patient can and can't have done. Please call us with any questions about your coverage.
